Flush it Friday: Acanthaspis petax Appreciation Post
My friends, it has been a
2021 week. It’s my COVIDversary here at home, and I’ve begun to feel like quite the husk. Even in these trying times, the world of insects supplies me with the energy I need to continue living. I tell myself, whenever I feel empty inside, at least I’m not a victim of the Acanthaspis petax species of assassin bugs, who pierce their prey with a modified tooth (the rostrum) before disintegrating their innards, slurping up their liquified guts and wearing their corpses as armor. Every day that this doesn’t occur, I can proudly claim victory over the doldrums of quarantine living. Now if only that new Wode record would drop, I could go about predating it in an identical fashion. In the meantime, suck these posts down:
