Flush It Friday: Burnout
It’s Friday and I wanna fuckin’ chill. But I can’t. Because I’m dumb.
Brain. Hurts.
It’s something I’m sure you’re all familiar with; you’ve got a couple hobbies that you really enjoy, and you start getting way more into them the more you do it. Practicing more guitar, reading more, writing more, what have you. Next thing you know, you’re playing in three bands, four D&D games, practicing for fighting game tournaments, and writing multiple articles a week for a metal blog, all while working full-time. If only I didn’t need sleep.
To be honest, this is a pretty sweet problem to have, though. Having a multitude of creative outlets is awesome, and I don’t remember the last time I was bored outside of work. While the brain drain is real, I wouldn’t trade this for anything; I resolved to be more outgoing this year, and it’s already felt amazing. The only thing I’m worried about is completely burning out. So for you folks who like to keep busy, how do you keep that fire going?
I have no segue. Here’s some stuff to check out from earlier this week:
