Mr. Dick if you’re nasty

2020 is the year of quarantined videos, playing in front of no audience videos, and green screen videos. It’s debatable which is better or if we’ll ever go back to music videos with plots, actors, or a real budget. In my eyes, it’s better to just use that money to give bands health care. Until that happens, we must endure the slings and arrows of pantomiming, camera mugging, and, in NASTY’s case, full-bodied thrusting in front of a giant fireball.

The Belgian band NASTY are riding that sweet, sweet mini-hardcore revival that has given rise to bands such as Harm’s Way, Jesus Piece, and Vein. While it’s not quiet as big a revival as in the mid 2000’s, these bands have managed to carve out a place for themselves within the heavy music world. At the end of the day, people love aggressive yells, heavy chugs, and just letting go for a few minutes. It’s real easy to let go of the harsh realities that plague our world with a ridiculous music video set in front of a green screen. Let’s break it down.
