Big ass riffs to fill up your trunk.

Before we to today’s contest, let’s take a look at the results from last week’s Best ov 2019 Half Yearly Edition. A Novelist caught wind of their appearance in the competition and ended up taking home the prize for Enemy Of The Sun in a fairly comfortable manner. Congrats to heliohaters all over the world.

This week our theme was simply Mammoth riffs.
Here’s what you sent in…

Poly-Math – ‘Ekerot’ (Riff @ 8:40)

After almost nine straight minutes of one-upping themselves, Poly-Math goes even further with a riff that beats the hell out of you while also reprising an earlier part of the song.

Brian Bellend
Damim – ‘Rising Of The Light’ (Riff @ 0:00)

Track from ‘ a fine game of nil’ . One of the best album releases of the year so far

Hans
Beaten To Death – ‘Xes and Strokes’ (Riff @ 1:01)

It’s been at least a couple months since I repped the best-dressed grinders in the game, so it’s high time. After a bout of blasting and shrieking, this breakdown hits like a colossal woolly prehistoric mammal.

Iron Goddess o’ Mercy
Weekend Nachos – “World Genocide” (Riff @ 1:29)

Massive riffs, huh? All right. Welp, see ya later!

Howard Deanzig
Electric Wizard – “Vinum Sabbathi” (Riff @ 0:23)

I dug this riff out of a tar pit.

Lacertilian
dISEMBOWELMENT – ‘Your Prophetic Throne Of Ivory’ (Riff @ 0:25)

Surprised nobody went for any Mammoth Grinder (or even Mammoth Storm for that matter), guess I’ll continue that trend of bucking the literal transposition of the theme. Aside from being incalculably heavy, this track from the pivotal 1993 doom classic mentions ivory so that’s enough for me.

Who?

Next week’s theme is Underwater
