Riffs from Cosmic Putrefaction, Methwitch, Sculpted Horror, Nine Inch Nails, and Putrid Pile.

Last time we met a few brave contestants among you sent in your favourite riffs of 2020 so far. Some pagan black metal I can’t pronounce took the win by reasonable margin. Hope you’re all happy with yourselves.

This week we were looking for riffs from bands featuring just one member
Here’s what you sent in…

Jeremy Riegel
Nine Inch Nails – ‘Wish’ (Riff @ 0:19)

As I was 11 when Broken came out, I credit Trent Reznor (and this riff) for singlehandedly making my balls drop.

Anime Slam Connoiseur
Putrid Pile – ‘Tortured Soul’ (Riff @ 1:36)

Not much to say about this one. It’s a really cool, generic riff played by a really cool and perhaps generic guy.

Iron Goddess of Mercy
Sculpted Horror – “Night Terrors” (Riff @ 3:02)

If you like burpy, twisted Finnish death metal, then you’ll probably enjoy this one-man band from my beloved Athens, GA. <3

vanNeun
Methwitch -‘Indwell’ (Riff @ 1:22)

Usually I’m not into that type of stuff but this album:
* Tickles me in a funny spot.
* Came to my attention like two days ago.
* Happens to fit this weeks theme.

Lacertilian
Cosmic Putrefaction – ‘This Landscape Sublimates Oblivion To Obliteration’ (Riff @ 0:00)

On an album absolutely stocked with top-tier death metal riffage, there are no wrong answers.
