I have striven to get as much in here as I could gather in a reasonable amount of time, but I’m sure it’s not comprehensive; lots of stuff gets released Halloween week, and this year was no exception. Rosy Finch – Seconda Morte (Discos Macarras) [Grunge/Post-Rock]
It’s been a bit since I’ve listened to Rosy Finch, but the chill sound of “Purgatorio” is vibing with me today. Its light guitar work is complemented by vocals that go between feathery and smoky, gentle yet haunting, until they throw on the distortion at the end and cut loose with some excellent grit. It might not be extreme enough for some, but I think most folks will be able to get into this right away. 11/4/22 (Spear)
