American Grim – Freakshow: A Video Breakdown
Freaks! That’s what they call us!
Nu-metal is back, ya’ll! I know We’ve touched on the resurgence of the genre before, but it’s always felt kind of half-hearted. It was more of a “this music is generic, bland, and will definitely not stand the test of time.” That’s all still very true, but it those bands and songs didn’t quite have that classic nu-metal taste. There are some newer bands out there fully embracing all the absurdities of nu-metal like Amerikan Overdose and today’s band American Grim.
Recently signed to eOne Music, the home of such bands as High on Fire, Black Label Society, Crowbar, Fit For An Autopsy, American Grim have given a big ol’ bear hug to nu-metal and it’s in-your-face “shock rock” foibles. Don’t believe? Check out this promo photo. Fuck, these guys are so crazy they’re about to explode, nawwhatimsayindawg? I’ll bet they go out on school nights. Still need convincing? Well, check out the video for their title track “Freakshow”.
