John Cage and Charles Ives would be proud, or at least I’m pretty sure they would be.

NOISEPOETNOBODY is releasing a soundscape piece drawing heavily from musique concrete, noise, minimalism, drone, and other experimental forms to create something truly quite haunting.

NOISEPOETNOBODY is the moniker of Casey Chittenden Jones, who uses synths, field recordings, and acoustic instruments to build these pieces. Concrete Vitalist consists of four movements built around field recordings, contact mic recordings, and prepared/string piano. With masterful construction, something as benign as two hummingbirds having a slight confrontation becomes menacing and unsettling, and the sounds of urban living and urban destruction wind around it. This is soundscaping at its finest.

Concrete Vitalist releases on November 22nd through Scry Recordings. The first movement is available to listen to on NOISEPOETNOBODY’s bandcamp page, and we’ve got a special premiere of the second movement for you, which features a ton of juicy prepared and string piano.

I hope you enjoy!
