Flush It Friday: Well, Shit.

S. Ghoulson reporting in on all things TovH and existentially horrifying.
Needless to say, this Flush It Friday comes off the heels of a presidential election in the states. Due to a large confluence of events leading up to November 5th, we now have another Trump presidency to live through. Regardless of how voters felt about the various ideological positions on the ballot this year, economic issues were what won the election for the GOP [1]. Whatever economic policy choices were made by the Biden administration were minuscule at best (when they were even able to get past the Supreme Court and GOP majority after 2022), leading Trump’s campaign to focus on voter’s finances. This also comes as a part of a wave of anti-incumbent election results internationally [2].

Regardless, a second Trump term will most likely not be good for the economy, as plans to institute a sales tariff on Chinese imports threatens to make prices rise for Americans [3]. He’s also made it pretty clear that his thoughts are the upper crest of wealth in the country [4]. With this also comes any other deranged ideas from the sycophantic, inbred dogs that will make up his cabinet and advisors; ripping rights away from women [5][6], puppeting the frustrations of a country falling apart against minority groups [7][8], and levy further attacks against what this country calls “Democracy” [9][10][11]. Kamala Harris and Joe Biden’s ineffectual governance [12][13], tacit support for genocide [14], piss-poor campaign messaging on issues of economy and price-gouging [15], resistance to American constituents’ desires [16], and other DNC classics have failed those of us to the left of American fascism.

Additionally, I worry what could potentially come as a result of the Democratic Party capitulating to the far-right on issues like immigration and crime  [17]. It very well may start the process of mainstreaming a large amount of white supremacist and xenophobic rhetoric, while also alienating those who are not bought into the paranoid delusions of a “migrant crisis [18]” or “crime wave [19].” This election has been ugly now for a while, but a decisive victory for the GOP here does not bode well for anyone other than the wealthy freaks that surround Trump at all times (Elon Musk, Peter Thiel, etc.). As for next election, the Democratic party is going to have to listen to and act on behalf of its constituents, or further commit to the degradation of a nation already in decline.

So, today, in lieu of any good news, I would like to raise a call to action: Vote and organize locally. Check in and be there of your loved ones and cherished communities. Be someone who others can rely on. Show your fellow person that you are an ally through thoughts and actions alike. Take care of yourself and afford yourself and others understanding as deserved. You can’t do it all, but you can do your best.
