This Toilet Tuesday (1/15/19)

Today’s Toilet Tuesday is brought to you by the infinite problems brought on by dependence upon shaky technology for long-distance communication.

Seriously, it almost didn’t happen because that fuckin’ Zucc cuck is more concerned with monetizing his platform than making sure it’s functional on the most basic of levels. In any case, we managed to slap this together at the last minute, and Karhu and Hans deserve all the praise for tossing me some words despite the issues. There’s a bunch of sweet shit out this week, so don’t be afraid to dive headfirst into that list, either.

Ectovoid – Inner Death (Blood Harvest/Helter Skelter) [Death Metal]
Listen to “Internal Inversion”

Ectovoid seem to be continuing their path towards a more cavernous sound with meatier production and plenty of reverb on the vocals. Instead of the dizzying, complex stuff more commonly associated with this sound, however, this is still a catchy af OSDM track with ripping riffs and a searing solo. I was only marginally interested in the band before, but this got my attention. 1/18/19 (Hans)

Great Sabatini/Great Falls – split (Hex Records) [Some Weirdo Sludgy Noise Shit]

What a fantastic pairing, not just name-wise. While both bands have their own take on gr(e)ating, noise-rock-infused ugliness, the common denominator seems to make for a more coherent listening experience than other splits. If you dig this awful racket, you might also wanna check Powerful Owl below. 1/18/19 (Hans)

Haunt – Mosaic Vision (Independent) [Heavy Metal]
Listen to “In Show of Flames”

New Haunt already? Can’t rightly say I’ve heard a note of it, but both the previous EP and full-length were old school rock with plenty of nose, I mean guitar leads. Do not expect this to disappoint. 1/17/19 (Karhu)
