Splintered Throne – The Greater Good of Man (Independent) [Heavy Metal]

Splintered Throne immediately earned a place in my rotation after hearing them on a recent episode of Toilet Radio. The ideas here aren’t terribly new- this is pretty straightforward heavy metal- but the execution is everything. The guitar work is immaculate, featuring some fantastic hooks and leads, and Lisa Mann’s vocals are a perfect fit for the music. It’s the sort of thing I’d imagine Unleash the Archers would sound like if they hewed closer to trad metal, and it’s fucking great. Tons of fun to be had here, so don’t skip it. 8/19/22 (Spear)
