TMP: Swanö, Enslaved, Crippled Black Phoenix, and More!
None of my news is particularly spooky for this Halloween edition of The Monday Press, but your personalities are scary enough. Get in here and discuss the current events!
I want to give a special shout out to toilet reader “Dumpster Lung” for keying us in on this bit of news (and sharing all the research he did to find it). Dumpster Lung is a good tolieteer, be more like him. Back in 1999, Dan Swanö released a solo album called Moontower that has never had a vinyl release. Dan even said in a Q&A that it would never happen. But guess what!? It’s happening! In a recent interview, Dan mentioned the reissue will happen with Black Mark. DL took it upon himself to email the company, and they said to check back at some point in November for pre-order information. I’m listening to Moontower now, and I can see why this is exciting. It’s some good Swanö.
Crowbar, Goatwhore, and Wake have a short US tour coming in December. More dates might pop up so be on the lookout.
Enslaved is releasing an album of early rarities on November 11. Check out a track here and head to Earsplit for more info on the release.
German black metal band Bethlehem have a new song out off their December 2 release.
This is one hell of an album cover for Sepultura‘s upcoming album, Machine Messiah.
Speaking of new album covers, here is Kreator’s. They set a release date of January 27. More info here.
Skáphe posted this. I don’t know what it means.
- Head over to Brooklyn Vegan to stream a track from the upcoming Martyrdöd album. It’s full of D-beats and crust I guess. I still don’t know exactly what crust sounds like.
- Adrenaline Mob, the band I only know about because I used to be obsessed with Symphony X, is back in the studio.
- Mayhem has some more European dates.
- Huntress is getting started on writing their next album.
- Scale the Summit is having some personnel issues.
- I’m not sure when this was actually announced, but Crippled Black Phoenix has a new album coming out on Friday. Bandcamp did a nice write up for them. I bet McNulty is excited.
